Repertoire

​The choir sings in 4-part harmony and has a wide repertoire including songs from the shows, popular hits, folk music and of course a range of festive music.

We meet every Tuesday evening.

 St. Mary’s Church Hall in Draycott.

Raising money for good causes

Draycott Sounds perform at a number of events across Derby as well as hosting our own concerts to raise money for charity.

 

2026

This year the choir have chosen two charities to support and proceeds from our concerts will go to:

Over The Wall Camp - a UK based charity for children and young people with health challenges and disabilities to discover a world of mischief and magic. We provide a safe place to step outside of comfort zones, establish friendships and build confidence through meaningful and exciting activities.

Pancreatic cancer research fund- In memory of Carol, a member of the choir who sadly lost her life to this disease. The charity supports people affected by pancreatic cancer, funding research and raising awareness to improve patient outcomes.

In 2025 we raised £2,010 for our chosen charities.

£670 was gifted to each chosen charity: Safe Families; HOPE Long Eaton and treetops Hospice.
We also donated £100 to MND in memory of Dave Atkins, a former long standing member of the choir who sadly passed away after a long illness.​​​

 

In 2024 the choir raised £1,623.10 for the following charities:
 

• Canaan Trust: £286.55

• Derby & Burton Hospitals: £350.00

• Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau: £286.55

• Derby Refugee Solidarity: £350.00

• Meningitis Now: £350.00
